People are scared of lightworkers and empaths
by Jean
Stepping out as a lightworker can sometimes feel like you’re walking into a storm of judgment and misunderstanding. It’s tough when people slap labels on you, accusing you of living in a make-believe world or worse, calling you names like “sinner” or “devil” just because you’re tuned into your empathic and lightworker abilities, and they don’t really know too much about us.
Look, I’ve been there, getting those mind-blowing insults and comments on my posts, where people tell me I’m on the wrong path, dabbling in darkness instead of light, or that I need to be saved. My first thought is always, why do you think I’m not saved? It’s a small glimpse into the daily hurdles we face for just trying to spread some positivity, healing, and making a difference in the world.
For example, just the other day, instead of trying to reason, I tried a novel approach after being accused of being a sinner. So, I replied with an invitation to have a private chat. Maybe we can learn something from each other. But nope, the offer got turned down flat, and the public criticism continued. This whole thing was a real eye-opener for me. It showed me just how strong we need to be to keep on our path in the face of all this negativity. It also made me realize we need some solid strategies to keep our spirits up and our energy protected when the going gets tough.
It makes it harder for some to be true to themselves because they feel safer hiding in a closet, behind fictitious names, or trying to run away from their true self. It’s not just painful, but it can make one start questioning their identity and their beliefs. Some start seeking help because they feel that something must be wrong with them. We live in a time where people are still being judged and misjudged, and boy, do things get taken out of context!
Now, here’s the deal on how we can keep our cool and stay true to ourselves:
Stay Anchored in Your Truth
Never forget the core of who you are and the purpose behind your journey. In the path of negativity, clinging to your truth is your anchor. Remember, your role as a lightworker is vital, no matter what others might say or think. You are like a lighthouse and with the bright light, the ones we are intended to help will be guided to us. I joke about how we are like magnets.
Now, we can’t save everyone, and we can’t heal everyone. Just like not every message we get is intended for us to reveal. Sometimes, we get information to guide us to be where we need to be, even if it’s just in that moment… or for a moment.
Here’s some information I hope might be found helpful…
Acknowledge the Impact
The barrage of criticism and misunderstanding can lead to self-doubt, feelings of isolation, and even questioning your own reality. It’s crucial to recognize these impacts on your mental health and take steps to address them, ensuring you’re not only surviving but thriving.
Build Your Support Network
Surrounding yourself with fellow empaths and lightworkers who understand your path can be incredibly empowering. These connections provide a safe space to share, learn, and grow together, away from the judgments of the outside world. We really can be a great support team!
Prioritize Self-Care
Self-care isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a lifeline. You have to engaging in activities that ground and replenish you, like meditation, nature walks, listening to some music that gets your head bopping and your feet stomping… or whatever else feeds your soul, is essential for maintaining your balance and well-being.
Set Boundaries
Learning to say no and stepping back from energy-draining situations or people is crucial. Protecting your energy allows you to conserve it for where it’s most needed and keeps your light shining brightly. You must stay balanced to stay happy!
Choose Your Battles
Realize that not every negative comment warrants a response. Sometimes, the most powerful action is choosing where to invest your energy wisely, preserving it for more positive and fruitful engagements. Sometimes, saying nothing at all is the best response.
Seek Support When Needed
If the weight of negativity becomes too heavy, there’s no shame in reaching out for support, whether it’s from friends, professionals, or within the lightworker community. Asking for help is a sign of strength.
Practical Tips for Avoiding Negativity
Be Mindful of What You Share:
Consider carefully what you put out into the world, especially on social media. Not everything needs to be shared with everyone. Consider what reactions you might have and at the same time, consider how you might react to them.
Leverage Privacy Settings:
Use the tools at your disposal to control who can see and interact with your content, shielding yourself from potential negativity.
Educate Gently:
When you do engage, try to educate rather than confront. A gentle, informed response can sometimes turn a critic into a curious observer.
Surround Yourself with Positivity:
Create an environment, both online and offline, that uplifts and supports you. This includes the people you interact with and the content you consume.
Visualize Protection:
Imagining a shield of protective energy around you can be a powerful tool in maintaining your well-being in the face of negativity.
Embracing your path as a lightworker in a world that doesn’t always understand or accept it is a brave endeavor. By staying true to yourself, nurturing your well-being, and wisely choosing where to invest your energy, you can navigate through the challenges while continuing to spread your light. Remember, you’re not alone on this journey. Together, we can make a difference, one spark of light at a time.
You are never alone.
